Application for our Youth Ambassador Programme 2026/27

Dear DofE participants,

You can apply for the Youth Ambassador Programme of the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award – Germany using the form below from 19 January 2026 until February 27. Please fill out the form using YA_2026 as code. Please include a short application video. You can upload the link to the video in the form. Once we receive the form, we will immediately send you an email asking you to submit a statement of purpose. You can send your statement as a PDF attachment when you reply to that email.

In the video, please introduce yourself in a maximum of 90 seconds. After a brief introduction, please mention how long you have been participating in the Award, whether you have already completed a level and what level you are currently at. We are also interested in your activities on your current level in the Service, Physical and Skills section. Finally, you can tell us whether you have already participated in expeditions and, if so, what the most special moment was during these. Please end the video with the question: ‘If I had to describe Duke in three words, they would be: …’

In your Statement of Purpose (maximum 1 A4 page), please answer the following questions in writing:

  1. What social issues concern you most and why?
  2. Please describe a challenge you have overcome. It can be very small or very big.
  3. Please tell us about a situation in which you felt that you changed your world a little bit for the better.
  4. Please state why you want to become a Youth Ambassador?

Should you need special assistance or if there is anything else you think that we should know, you can put it into your Statement of Purpose – it will be treated confidentially.

If you need support, please reach out to a trusted person. Please note: We are not concerned with spelling mistakes, grammar or anything else. We are only interested in the content. And you certainly don’t have to have changed the world to become a Youth Ambassador.

What is important to us is that you are keen to contribute your voice to our discussions and challenge yourself a little bit as individual. This includes being willing to participate in our monthly digital Youth Ambassador calls (approx. 75 minutes) and actively participating in two events on social issues as ambassadors for the Duke Programme. In order to work well together throughout the year, it is important that you are able to participate in our kick-off weekend at the beginning of the programme. This is expected to take place on 18/19 April 2026 in Berlin. We can cover travel expenses in full or in part if necessary.

We look forward to receiving your applications! Thank you for your interest in our programme.

Kind regards,

Vanessa Masing & Team
