Duke Direct is a way for teenagers and young adults to carry out their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award independently of a licensed organisation if there is none in their area.

As an independent participant you can do your Duke activities at your own pace with the dedicated support of an Award Leader from our National Association. Depending on where you live, mentoring takes place via video, email and / or telephone. For the expeditionsection  of the programme, however, cooperation with an external provider such as Outward Bound is required.

However, due to the high level of self-motivation and discipline required to participate outside of a school environment, we recommend that you first explore all options for participating with a programme provider in your area.
